Learn more about and comment on proposed redevelopment plans for Bellingham’s waterfront at presentations and public hearings scheduled in March.
The Bellingham Planning and Development Commission begins its review this month of the package of draft regulatory documents and plans for The Waterfront District. A comprehensive overview presentation of the plan was presented to the Planning Commission on March 14. The video and presentation materials can be viewed online:
This presentation is followed by two evenings of public hearings, scheduled for 7 p.m. March 21 and 7 p.m. March 28, to help ensure ample time for public feedback on the draft plans. These meetings also will be filmed and aired live on BTV10, posted online and replayed on BTV10 and the City website at 4 p.m. the following Sundays..
The documents being reviewed by the Planning Commission – along with companion agreements not subject to formal Planning Commission review – chart a proposed course of action for decades of redevelopment work on 237 acres of Bellingham’s waterfront, which was acquired by the Port of Bellingham in 2005.
All documents are available on the City website for public review. All public comments should be sent to: firstname.lastname@example.org or Planning Commission, c/o Planning and Community Development Department, City of Bellingham, 210 Lottie Street, Bellingham WA 98225.
