SUMMARY:A HOPE PROJECT
DESCRIPTION:A Hope Project was created by three teens. It is a public art installation that tells a progressive story on yard signs illustrating hope and some actions we can each take to protect planet Earth. The signs are on Lynn Street between Eldridge Ave. and Northwest Ave and will be for approximately six months. The naming of A HOPE PROJECT\, the logo and the images were all made by Sylvia\, Lilly and Raya. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nA HOPE PROJECT presents ideas to protect planet Earth. You too can write your ideas or draw a picture of an invention that you think will help to fix the climate crises. Put those ideas & inventions on a postcard and mail it to someone important to you. A grandmother. An uncle. Or a senator! We’ve got postage stamps and a mailbox! \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nLocation\n\n\n\nSigns will be posted on the length of Lynn Street between Eldridge Ave and Northwest Ave (corner of Yeager’s). \n\n\n\nContact\n\n\n\nFrom A Child’s Point of ViewEmail: fromchildspointofview@gmail.com \n\n\n\nPrize Drawing/Event Feedback\n\n\n\nReceive a prize drawing entry for up to five events you attend during Climate Action Week! Three prize drawing winners will be selected to choose between a solar backpack\, waterproof bike bag\, energy efficiency kit\, or zero waste shopping kit.  \n\n\n\nFor each entry\, you must submit a brief online feedback form for the event you attended and include a unique codeword for that event. SUMMARY:Forests\, Housing\, & Carbon: An Elegant Climate Solution
DESCRIPTION:Join Carbon Neutral Bellingham and the The Arcology Institute for a presentation\, break-out groups\, and mixer at Black Fern Coffee during Climate Action Week. This event will begin with a two-part presentation and halfway through\, we’ll separate into conversation break-out groups for a short time. \n\n\n\nAfter the conclusion of the presentation\, there will be a Sunset Social featuring a photo exhibition for both attendees and the general public with wines\, coffee and tea available for purchase from Black Fern Coffee. You can also choose to attend the Sunset Social event separately\, without attending the presentation beforehand. The presentation will explore the role forests play in carbon sequestration and how cities like Bellingham can best make use of this promising solution. \n\n\n\nBased on analysis from NOAA’s Global Monitoring Lab\, global average atmospheric carbon dioxide was 414.72 parts per million in 2021\, setting a new record high despite the continued economic drag from the COVID-19 pandemic. Countless scientists\, climate experts\, and government officials agree that 350 parts per million is the “safe” level of carbon dioxide — a level that has been exceeded for decades. \n\n\n\nSignificantly reducing annual greenhouse gas emissions is the first step to addressing this problem\, but in order to help reverse the damage that has already been done\, efforts must also be made to pull carbon dioxide from the atmosphere and sequester it away. Fortunately there are a number of solutions being implemented\, ranging from improved farming practices to carbon-capture factories. \n\n\n\nJoin us at the free September 20 event to learn more. Space is limited\, so please RSVP soon! \n\n\n\nRSVP for Event\n\n\n\n \n\n\n\nLocation\n\n\n\nBlack Fern Coffee1211 Granary AveBellingham\, WA 98225 \n\n\n\nContact\n\n\n\nCarbon Neutral BellinghamEmail: hello@carbonneutralbellingham.com \n\n\n\nPrize Drawing/Event Feedback\n\n\n\nReceive a prize drawing entry for up to five events you attend during Climate Action Week!
