Together\, we will plant native trees and shrubs near Squalicum Creek to improve water quality and restore downstream salmon habitat near Willow Spring\, an important restoration project constructed by the City in 2018. \n\n\n\nBefore the work party\, start your day at a commemorative community event in honor of Dr. Martin Luther King\, Jr. with a panel discussion and free community breakfast at Bellingham High School from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. Then head on over to Squalicum Creek Park for our community service project. \n\n\n\nAll ages and abilities welcome. No previous volunteer experience necessary. Unaccompanied youth under the age of 18 must provide a City & NSEA Youth Liability Release Form signed by their legal guardian to participate. Participants under age 16 must be accompanied by a parent/guardian. \n\n\n\nWe will provide tools\, gloves\, instruction\, snacks\, Tony’s coffee\, and free pizza. Please wear closed-toe shoes\, long pants\, and layers.
