SUMMARY:Make a Difference Day 2023 Volunteer Work Party
DESCRIPTION:Celebrate Make a Difference Day and Arbor Day with the City of Bellingham and Nooksack Salmon Enhancement Association (NSEA) by helping improve salmon habitat at Whatcom Falls Park! We will be planting trees and shrubs and removing invasive species in the north end of the park\, where the Whatcom Creek Railroad Trestle is being removed.  \n\n\n\nAll ages\, abilities\, and experience levels welcome. Unaccompanied youth under the age of 18 must provide a City & NSEA Youth Liability Release Form signed by their legal guardian to participate. Participants under age 14 must be accompanied by a parent/guardian. \n\n\n\nYou need: Weather-appropriate clothing\, long pants\, closed-toe shoes\, and a full water bottle. \n\n\n\nWe provide: Tools\, gloves\, instruction\, coffee\, snacks\, and free pizza provided by Zeeks and Pizza Time! \n\n\n\nOur volunteer work parties follow current health department guidelines. Please register in advance. Additional information and reminders will be emailed to registered participants. \n\n\n\nRegister for Event\n\n\n\n \n\n\n\nLocation\n\n\n\nWe will be working at the north end of Whatcom Falls Park. The parking lot located at Bloedel Donovan Park (2114 Electric Ave) is closest to the work party site. Please park there and follow signs to the site. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n \n\n\n\nTravel by bike or foot: The work party site is accessible by bike or foot. Find your bike route by visiting cob.org/bike and your walking route by viewing a trail map of Whatcom Falls Park.  \n\n\n\nTravel by bus: Several Whatcom Transportation Authority bus routes serve the area\, with a nearby stop at Electric Ave. Find your route using the online trip planner at ridewta.com.  \n\n\n\nContact\n\n\n\nQuestions?
