DESCRIPTION:Every year\, we join with other local organizations and invite our community to learn and serve together in honor of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Join us on Saturday\, January 17 and Monday\, January 19 for two events that we are co-hosting to honor Dr. King’s legacy and impact. \n\n\n\nCommunity Work Party in Squalicum Creek Park (Saturday\, January 17)\n\n\n\nJoin us\, the Nooksack Salmon Enhancement Association (NSEA)\, and our community for a volunteer work party from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at our Willow Spring restoration site in Squalicum Creek Park. We will plant native trees and shrubs to restore fish and wildlife habitat and improve water quality in Squalicum Creek. Volunteers are encouraged to bring donations to this work party to support the Birchwood Food Desert Fighters. The event begins with a free community breakfast and is followed by speakers\, workshops\, hands-on activities\, and community service projects.
