The Bellingham Police Department started its body worn camera program in the spring of 2014. We quickly recognized the value of the camera in showing the great interaction and work our officers do with our community. As a result, in July of 2016 body worn cameras became mandatory for all uniformed personnel.
While it is important to remember that these cameras can only see a portion of the “big picture” our officers have the newest generation of cameras which record in high definition and provide a larger view of what is happening.
