💊💊💊 DEA National Rx TakeBack Day is Saturday 💊💊💊
When spring cleaning, don`t forget about your medicine cabinet! If you look at *ANY* vial of medication and go "What the heck was this for???" It means it is time to let it go. And, we are here to help! Saturday, April 27, is National Drug Take Back Day.
That means we, and the @whatcomcounty.sheriffsoffice, offer a safe and free opportunity to dispose of old medications discreetly. From 10 am to 2 pm, two collection site options are available:
💓 You can come see *US* at the Bellingham Police Department at 505 Grand Ave.
😐 Or, you can go see *THEM*... WCSO Deputies will be at the Birch Bay Library
7948 Birch Bay Dr in Blaine.
Either is fine... it won`t hurt our feelings if you visit the Deputies instead... 😔 What matters is that your unused medications are safely and appropriately disposed of.
For more info, visit https://www.dea.gov/takebackday.

What a weekend! BPD spent a lot of time running traffic and responding to calls for service. Unfortunately, about ten traffic encounters BPD officers dealt with resulted in people placed under arrest for Driving Under the Influence. If you consume any substance that can cause impairment, please leave the driving to a sober party and seek alternative modes of coming and going.
At least one traffic stop this weekend had a much happier outcome... a handshake! The person wanted proof they were hanging out (albeit on the side of the road) with our city`s finest and asked for a picture. Ofc. D`amelio obliged and then sent the *SOBER* driver on their way. We are so glad that people getting pulled over think as highly of our officers as we do.
