Habitat Restoration Technical Assessment – Technical Advisory Group

Purpose

To achieve the project objectives, a Technical Advisory Group (TAG) was formed to serve as a sounding board and provide guidance throughout the duration of the Habitat Restoration Technical Assessment project.

The TAG has played an essential role in providing input at critical junctures throughout the project and in connecting with and engaging broader stakeholder interests.

Membership

The Advisory Group includes 10 individuals which reflect:

  • Geographic balance across the city of Bellingham (excluding the Lake Whatcom watershed)
  • A mix of restoration/protection expertise, including:
    • Terrestrial ecology
    • Avian ecology
    • Aquatic ecology
    • Water quality
    • Restoration/protection in urban and semi-urban environments
  • A mix of restoration/protection interests, including:
    • Protection and recovery of species at risk
    • Protection of aquatic and terrestrial landscapes and ecological processes
    • Enhanced recreational opportunities
  • A mix of governmental representation
  • Reflect non-governmental interests:
    • Environmental NGO
    • Neighborhood or community group(s)
