Utility Bill AutoPay

Let us manage your payments for you. Forget the hassles of writing checks or having to remember when to make payments. Have your payments automatically deducted from your authorized bank account before each due date. Automatic Funds Transfer(AFT) is the most convenient, reliable, and least expensive way to pay your bill. You save time by not having to write checks and also save the cost of postage. Furthermore, you no longer have to worry about payments getting lost in the mail or about late payment charges when you are out of town on business or vacation.

To sign up for Automatic Funds Transfer, complete and sign the AutoPay Enrollment Form (PDF). Return the form to the City of Bellingham Finance Department, 210 Lottie Street, Bellingham, WA 98225 along with a VOIDED check or savings withdrawal slip for the account you want to use for your AFT. When we receive the form, a validation period of fifteen (15) business days will be required to verify the banking information. Once validated, you will be actively enrolled; there is no charge for this service.

If you need to terminate the service, complete and sign the AutoPay Cancellation Form (PDF).  Return the completed form to the City of Bellingham Finance Department, 210 Lottie Street, Bellingham, WA 98225.  The form must be received five (5) business days before your account is scheduled to be debited (the due date on your billing).

You will still receive a bill from us each billing cycle. It will tell you how much money you owe and the due date when the funds will be withdrawn from your account. If you are on a meter, it will continue to indicate how much water you have used.

If you have additional questions, please call the Finance Department.

City moving to monthly utility billing

Attention Water, Sewer, and Stormwater Utility customers. In early 2022 the Water, Sewer, and Stormwater Utility will begin to bill monthly rather than bi-monthly. Individual accounts will see the switch to monthly billing once they have completed their final bi-monthly billing cycle that contains days from 2021. AutoPay customers DO NOT need to make any updates to make monthly payments.
