The City of Bellingham is accepting applications for tourism grants for events and projects to promote tourism and cultural activities within the City. Deadline for submissions is Noon (PST) Friday, September 1, 2023.
The tourism grant program offers a start-up grant opportunity for events or projects that are less than three years old as well as a standard grant application for longer-running events. Special consideration is given to events that occur during the off-season (between October and May), events that are offered in partnership with other agencies and events to reduce duplication of activities.
Proposals are considered through a competitive process. Links to applications, previous grant recipients and complete program eligibility requirements are available through the Tourism Promotion Fund webpage.
Tourism grants are funded by the Tourism Promotion Fund, which is supported by the City’s share of sales taxes collected on overnight stays within Bellingham city limits. Activities funded through the Tourism Promotion Fund increase economic activity by bringing tourists to Bellingham.
