
City Council
The City Council is Bellingham’s legislative body, responsible for setting public policies, adopting long-range plans, approving the budget and taxes, and passing laws. Voters who live in Bellingham elect City Council Members. They serve four-year terms, except for the At-Large Council Member, who serves a two-year term.
