On the afternoon of Wednesday, April 5th, Bellingham Police served a search warrant on a residence and vehicle in the 1800 block of Old Samish Road. Police were searching for a computer that had been stolen from Bellingham High School's Community Transitions program. The burglary was reported on November 14th, 2016. The computer was located by police during the service of this search warrant.
Three men were arrested at the residence. One of the men was 38 year-old Daniel Wilson of Bellingham who was booked at the Whatcom County Jail for one count of Possessing Stolen Property 2nd Degree. The charge was a felony and was related to the computer that was recovered. The other two men were arrested on warrants. One subject was arrested on a Department of Corrections warrant and that subject was booked into jail by that agency. The other subject was arrested on a Bellingham Municipal Court warrant and booked by Bellingham Police.
The investigation into the burglary at the high school is on-going as additional stolen computers have not been located.
According to the Bellingham Schools website, Community Transitions is a Special Education program within the Bellingham School District that serves students through the year in which they turn 21 years of age.
