The Bellingham Public Library is raising chum salmon eggs with Nooksack Salmon Enhancement Association as a community extension of their Students for Salmon program. Enjoy watching the eggs via the salmon cam, or visit them in person in the Children’s Space at the Central Library until their release into Whatcom Creek on March 28, 2026.

The City of Bellingham and Whatcom County are developing a Lake Whatcom Forest Management Plan that will protect water quality, improve forest health, and support responsible recreational access by guiding forest management activities across more than 13,000 acres of forests that the City and County collectively manage in the Lake Whatcom watershed.
