Procession of the Species: Summer 2026

Mark your calendars — Whatcom County’s favorite celebration of art, nature, and community is back! Once again, we’re teaming up with Gabriel’s Art Kids on the Procession of the Species parade and festival bringing color, creativity, and fun to downtown Bellingham. Families, friends, and neighbors are invited to dress as their favorite animals, create dazzling costumes, and join the fun. After the parade, stick around for live music, interactive performances, face painting, and hands-on art activities. Procession of the Species also coincides with the 2026 Children’s Art Walk beginning on May 1, making for a fantastic weekend of creativity and community spirit.
Parade begins at Bellingham High School and ends in Maritime Heritage Park
