Padden Creek re-opens March 4

tests indicate waterway has returned to safe levels, following sewer spill and cleanup

March 04, 2016 - by Amy Cloud, Communications and Outreach

Padden Creek, which has been closed between 17th and Padden Estuary since last week's sewer spill, will reopen to the public today, Friday, March 4. The Creek had been closed after wastewater was misdirected during a sewer main replacement project.

Results from daily testing of Padden Creek show bacteria levels in the water are back to normal levels.

For now, the City's contractor is working longer days, beginning at 7 a.m., to continue the sewer main replacement project.
