Bicyclist dies as a result of his bike colliding with a truck.  51 year old Eric Weight was westbound on his bicycle in the bike lane on Old Fairhaven Parkway, approaching the intersection of Old Fairhaven Parkway and 30th Street.  Westbound traffic on Old Fairhaven Parkway had stopped as the light was cycling from yellow to red at 30th Street.  An eastbound 1998 Ford Ranger truck was turning left to go north onto 30th Street when the bike collided into the truck.

There were several witnesses to this tragic event.   The Bellingham Police Traffic Unit and Crime Scene Investigators interviewed witnesses and collected evidence at the scene.  The investigation is ongoing, and more information will be released as the investigation progresses.
