Watermain break at City Hall

Water shut-off to City Hall and Bellingham Public Library

December 13, 2017 - by Amy Cloud, Communications and Outreach

City of Bellingham Public Works crews are on site at City Hall, where an 8″ watermain has broken. To complete the repair, it is necessary to shut off water to the site, which impacts both City Hall and the Bellingham Public Library.  Water will likely be shut off through the end of business today. The front entrance to City Hall is temporarily closed, but the side entrances are open.

At this time, we are not closing City Hall.  Offices will remain open, despite the water shut-off. The City will provide water bottles and portable toilets for City staff and the public.

At this point we do not know when repair will be complete; however, we do not anticipate water service will restored before the end of the work day.

More information will be provided shortly.
