Registration begins Monday March 4 at 8:30 am

Bellingham Parks and Recreation is planning some big changes for summer youth programming.  Youth day camps will continue to operate at Bloedel Donovan Park, with expanded hours, updated themes and new trips and activities.

“BellingCamp” is for ages 6-13 and will run from 8:00 am-5:30 pm. In the past, camp hours were from 9:00 am-3:00 pm. “Community needs have changed a lot in the past few decades, and the hours of our summer programs weren't meeting the needs of working families” said Melissa Bianconi, Recreation Manager for the City of Bellingham. “Expanding hours and refreshing our camp curriculums increases accessibility to high quality choices for summer camp options; we're really excited” says Bianconi.  New themes include Animation week, Secret Agent Code camp, Nature and Sustainability camp and more. Old favorites remain in the schedule, such as Camp Hogwarts and Survivor Camp.

Adventure Day Camp serves kids ages 8-13 and offers 9 weeks of daily field trips. Kids will have opportunities to tour a welding shop, see the behind the scenes cooking action at Fiamma Burger, horseback ride, build solar ovens, skateboard and bike with local experts and much more. Adventure Day Camp hours remain 9:00 am to 4:00 pm in 2019.

For full camp details and schedules please view the department Playbook.

Camp registration begins on March 4 at 8:30 AM. Online registration is available. Scholarships are available for all summer day camps. Please call 360-778-7000 for details, or email parks@cob.org
