A draft of the 2019 Action Plan has been released and is available at the reference desk of the Central and Fairhaven branches of Bellingham Public Library and online.
This plan lays out how over $9 million in funding for housing and human services will be spent to support low-income and homeless residents in the City of Bellingham between July 1, 2019 and June 30, 2020. Current requests total over $11 million for this same period, meaning not all requests can be funded. Funding sources for these activities include federal HOME and CDBG funds, as well as local City funds (Housing Levy and General Fund).
The public is welcome to comment on the draft action plan, either in person or by writing. There will be a public hearing during the Community Development Advisory Meeting on March 14, 2019 (details below). Public comment will be taken at the meeting. Written comments may be submitted to haven@cob.org or to the address below until April 8, 2019.
