Mayor chooses holiday cards designed by students

Two 2nd Grade Roosevelt Elementary students recognized for artwork

December 05, 2019 - by Mia Steben, Mayor's Office

Two 2nd grade Roosevelt Elementary School students are being recognized this year by having their drawings displayed on the Mayor's holiday greeting cards.

Bellingham Mayor Kelli Linville chose artwork from Aubrielle Alize Kovalenko and Caliyah Michelle Brock for this year's Mayor's Office holiday cards. Each year, the Mayor selects drawings from a local elementary school to feature on the cards.

On behalf of the Mayor and the City of Bellingham staff, the festive cards are mailed out to hundreds of volunteers, board and commission members, local, state and federal elected officials, and other community leaders. Bellingham Public Schools selects one school or school program per year to participate, and students are asked to submit drawings that illustrate wintertime celebrations. From the drawings submitted, the Mayor selects two to be featured on cards.

Congratulations to the winners, Aubrielle and Caliyah!
