The City of Bellingham relies on nearly 50 big trucks and equipment to keep hundreds of miles of city streets, storm drains, sewer and water lines running smoothly.
On Thursday, May 23, from 1 to 3 p.m., some of these normally busy big rigs will be pulled from duty and on display in front of City Hall, at 210 Lottie Street in Bellingham.
Community members, including children, are invited to come view some of the equipment used to repair and maintain the City's essential infrastructure. The event will also include demonstrations, activities, crafts and a special Bellingham Public Library story time.
This free event is co-hosted with the Bellingham Public Library and offered In coordination with National Public Works Week, sponsored by the American Public Works Association, a time to celebrate and appreciate the work it takes to maintain the infrastructure and services the Public Works Department provides for our community.
