In response to the recent “Stay Home, Stay Healthy” order, the City of Bellingham has closed the Finance Department Cashier Office at Bellingham City Hall, effective immediately.
Finance Department Director Andy Asbjornsen said utility payments, business and occupational tax payments, and payments for parking services, can still be made online, through the mail or drop off box in front of City Hall, or over the telephone. The Cashier Office closure is in addition to other facility and public service point closures announced in recent weeks.
City officials previously announced closures to help prevent the spread of COVID-19, including all sponsored and permitted events, programs and activities, at the Bellingham Public Library, Whatcom Museum, and many Parks and Recreation Department facilities.
Front counters that serve the public are closed in the following departments, as announced March 16:
- Fire Department
- Parks & Recreation Department
- Permit Center
- Police Department
- Public Works Department
- Municipal Court
City officials announced Tuesday, March 24, that playgrounds, sports courts, bike parks, the skate park and the golf course are closed due to the “Stay Home, Stay Healthy” order.
