M. Scott Langton taken into custody

Update 1 p.m. 7/27/2022: The charges in this case have been updated to Attempted Child Molestation 2nd Degree.

Original release 11:15 a.m. 7/27/2022

Michael Scott Langton, a Ferndale police officer, was arrested at his residence in Blaine around 9 p.m. Tuesday, July 26, by Bellingham Police. He has been charged with Criminal Attempt, Solicitation of a Minor.

Langton was booked into Skagit County Jail following his arrest. As this charge involves a minor, it is especially sensitive, therefore no additional details on this active investigation will be released at this time.
