Art is abundant in all forms in our City, from theatre productions, band performances and public sculptures to street murals, music festivals and much more. Nominations are now open for the next round of Mayor’s Arts Awards, which honor notable works of art, artistic achievements and arts events, and celebrate those who have contributed to the arts in our community.

Award winners are chosen based on nominations submitted by community members.

“Bellingham’s vibrant arts scene is well known, thanks to the artists, organizations and businesses dedicated to bringing arts alive throughout our City,” Bellingham Mayor Seth Fleetwood said. “The Mayor’s Arts Awards celebrate and honor our exceptional artists and art advocates.”

Nominations are invited for individual artists, art-related businesses, benefactors for the arts, arts educators, arts supporters, notable art related events and artistic achievements. To submit nominations and see the award selection criteria, visit the Mayor’s Arts Awards page. Nominations must be received by December 31, 2023. Previous Mayor’s Arts Award recipients are not eligible for additional awards.

Awardees will be announced in early spring 2024 and invited to attend the Mayor’s Arts Awards Ceremony. The date of the ceremony will also be announced in spring 2024.
