Capture the essence of Bellingham with your camera and share your photos in the 19th annual Essence of Bellingham Photo Competition. Photographers of all ages and skill levels can submit photos that express what it’s like to be a part of our fabulous city – from the moments that make up daily life to the iconic celebrations we enjoy.
Entries may be submitted, free of charge, now through October 1, 2024. Winners will be selected in several categories: Best of Show, Best of Class, Best of Category and Honorable Mention. One photo will also be selected to receive the Climate Action Award, given to an image that gives perspective to our community’s actions to address climate change.
The City of Bellingham and the Whatcom Museum created the annual photo competition to highlight what we love most about our community and honor the artists who capture it. Winning entries are added to the Whatcom Museum’s photo archives and may also appear on BTV, in City publications, or on the City’s website and social media.
