Eldridge Avenue Bridge Reconstruction (Squalicum Creek)

Project Overview- ER018

The project will reconstruct and widen the bridge over Squalicum Creek, originally built in 1937. Crews will replace the current multi‑span structure with a two‑span bridge. The new bridge will provide one vehicle travel lane in each direction and protected shared‑use pathways on both sides.

Project Status – Spring 2026

The design team has completed the 30 percent bridge design. The City and our consultants are now advancing the plans to 60 percent. In the coming months we will announce opportunities for public engagement and contact property owners directly affected by the bridge replacement to coordinate individual meetings.

Project Background

Through routine inspections the City has identified the aging bridge as needing replacement. Replacing the bridge creates an opportunity to widen it and add walking and biking facilities that align with current long‑range plans.
