Holly Street Bridge Replacement Project

The Holly Street Bridge Replacement Project will rebuild the bridge over Whatcom Creek to fix structural deficiencies and ensure safe, reliable passage for decades to come. The new design includes one vehicle lane in each direction, dedicated parking, and separated bike lanes and sidewalks on both sides—making travel safer and more accessible for everyone. This project reflects the City’s commitment to maintaining critical infrastructure while improving connectivity for pedestrians and cyclists.

Project Status – 2025

This project is included in the City’s 2026-2031 Six-Year Transportation Improvement Program. Construction will significantly impact vehicles, transit riders, cyclists, and pedestrians throughout the project. Local businesses will also be affected, and the City will work to address these challenges during the design phase. To maintain safe and efficient travel, a detour will be in place for all modes of transportation.
