Project Overview
This project will replace aging sections of watermain and wastewater mains along Samish Way. Additionally, some wastewater improvements are planned for a section of G Street and parts of the Cornwall Park neighborhood.
G Street work will reline the wastewater main to help prevent water intrusion and infiltration, which should alleviate flooding on residential properties. Smoke testing will take place to identify any illegal connections that might be contributing to the inflow and infiltration issues.
This project includes:
- Wastewater and watermain replacements along Samish Way from Bill McDonald Parkway to E. Maple Street, includes up to 130 days of night work
- Wastewater improvements along G Street to help alleviate flooding
Project Status
Construction is anticipated to begin in October 2026, with work along G Street taking place first. The project is expected to be complete by May 2027.
Construction Impacts
There may be some temporary lane closures with flaggers on site during construction.
During the wastewater improvement work along G Street, work will be done using cured-in-place pipe lining, which minimizes excavation. There may be temporary road closures during this work.
The work along Samish Way includes up to 130 working days of night work (10 p.m. to 7 a.m.) to minimize impacts to businesses along the corridor.
