
The project’s final feasibility evaluation, final design, and permitting was completed between January 2018 – March 2019, with six private-public partners committing to provide nearly all of the project funding needed. Final funding needed for the project is pending Pacific Salmon Treaty renegotiation funding administered by NOAA through the FFY20 Department of Commerce budget.
In August 2019 the project was advertised for construction bids which resulted in five contractor bids. The City Council authorized the construction contract award in October 2019. Construction began in early 2020, with the dam removed and fish passage restored later in 2020.
Project phase: Construction/Implementation.
Major accomplishments:
- Construction Notice to Proceed issued on January 2, 2020.
- In-water work began in June 2020.

Construction contractor: Walsh Construction Co II, LLC.
Next milestone:
- Dam removal – July-August, 2020
- Complete in-water work by September 30, 2020
