Project Overview
Phase 2 (Project number EF-178) of the City Operations Building will continue the remodel of the existing Public Works buildings on Pacific Street. The project will also include demolition and rebuilding of a vehicle barn. This work is a continuation of the new facility completed as part of Phase 1, bringing Parks Operations and Public Works Staff together in one facility.
Project Status – Fall 2024
Phase 2 construction began in early July, with demolition of the old vehicle sheds and the old admin offices. Site prep work continues.
- Concrete footings and floor slabs will be poured soon.
- EV charging stations are being installed along Carolina Street; work is expected to be complete in October. Once complete, the charging stations become part of the public network of EV chargers, and available for any EV to use. These chargers are a few of many that have been installed as part of a City project to add 90 new EV plugs at 26 different locations across Bellingham.
Construction Impacts
The sidewalk along the west side of Pacific Street is closed. Some work may require that portions of Pacific Street be closed temporarily. Please watch for flaggers.
