Events in Honor of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.
Jan 18, 2025 , 10:00 am – 3:30 pm
Every year, we join with other local organizations and invite our community to learn and serve together in honor of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Join us on Saturday, January 18 for two events that we are co-hosting to honor Dr. King’s legacy and impact.
United We Stand: Where Justice, Love, and Freedom Prevail (10 a.m. to noon)
Join us at Bellingham High School from 10 a.m. to noon for a free community breakfast and panel discussion, followed by plenty of opportunity for community service (including our work party below). Watch for more details on the MLK event website. This event is sponsored by the Community Consortium for Cultural Recognition which is a coalition of education, city and nonprofit partners in Whatcom County.
Community Work Party in Squalicum Creek Park (12:30 to 3:30 p.m.)
After the morning celebration and speakers, join us, the Nooksack Salmon Enhancement Association (NSEA), and our community for a volunteer work party from 12:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. to restore salmon habitat and water quality at our Willow Spring restoration site in Squalicum Creek Park. Please register in advance. Learn more and register on our event page.
