During a follow up interview on March 24th regarding the stabbing at Cornwall Park we were told by the 23 year old victim that he had fabricated the story and had actually harmed himself with his knife.

This case began at about 3:30 p.m. on March 16th when officers responded to a report of a stabbing at the popular park.  The victim told officers that a Hispanic male had harmed him and had then fled on foot.  On March 17th a composite sketch of this suspect was completed with the assistance of the victim and then posted to the public via our social media sites.

Major Crimes Sergeant Scanlon states; “After a complete and thorough investigation, it has been determined that there is no outstanding suspect in the Cornwall Park stabbing. This investigation has reached a conclusion and the park and surrounding neighborhood are safe to enjoy.”

At this point we are redirecting our efforts to connect the involved male with services that can better assist him with any issues that he may be struggling with.
