Bellingham and Whatcom County residents are invited to the fall 2017 Gear Up! Emergency Preparedness Fair, taking place 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sunday, September 10, 2017 at the Depot Market Square, 1100 Railroad Ave. in Bellingham.
Gear Up! Is a free event, open to all, aiming to offer community members the opportunity to learn about the steps they can take to prepare themselves, their families, and their homes for a future disaster by utilizing resources already at their disposal. The event intends to be an interactive and fun event with the goal of opening a discussion about enhancing preparedness in the community through games, art, music, and more.
Participating organizations include Bellingham Fire Department, Bellingham Police Department, Whatcom County Community Emergency Response Team, Whatcom Emergency Communications Group, Whatcom Humane Society, Bellingham Boy Scouts, and local outdoor equipment suppliers.
