Hollie Huthman assumes office for At-Large position

State law mandates Huthman take oath of office in December

December 06, 2019 - by Vanessa Blackburn, Mayor's Office

Newly elected Bellingham Councilmember Hollie Huthman will be assuming Councilmember Hannah Stone's position as the Bellingham City Council At-Large representative for the remainder of the year.

Councilmember Stone was appointed by the Council to fill the at-large vacancy in October 2018, and Councilmember Huthman was elected to the seat this past November. State law requires that the elected official must assume office immediately after the election is certified and they take their oath of office.

In January, Councilmember Stone will rejoin the Council as the Ward 1 representative.
