Spray parks are open!
Our three spray parks at Cornwall Memorial Park, Fairhaven Park, and Cordata Park opened Monday, June 15. The spray parks will be open to help you beat the heat from 11 a.m. – 7 p.m. daily through Sept. 15. All spray parks use fresh, potable water that is not recycled.
Concerts in the Park
‘Tis the season for outdoor music! The Elizabeth Park Concert Series kicks off its 32nd season tonight. You can catch the free, family-friendly concert series every Thursday night through Aug. 20, from 6 – 8 p.m. in Elizabeth Park. Picnicking is encouraged, and vendors will be on-site with dinner and dessert options, too. Find the full concert series lineup on page 23 in the Spring/Summer Playbook. There, you’ll also find the lineup for the free monthly concerts at Boulevard Park, which start next Friday, June 26, at 6 p.m.
Of course, we can’t let the adults have all of the fun. We’re launching a new children’s concert series at Maritime Heritage Park this August. The three-week series will offer interactive performances (hula hoops, anyone?!) from noon – 1 p.m.

Feedback opportunity: Landmark Tree protections
The Bellingham Planning Commission is holding a public hearing tonight, June 18, on permanent landmark tree protections. Temporary rules have been in place since May 20, 2024, to protect landmark trees – the largest, most significant trees in Bellingham. Since then, we have been analyzing the effectiveness of the interim regulations as we develop permanent rules. The permanent regulations now being proposed will help balance the protection of trees with the need for additional housing opportunities. Learn more about landmark tree protections.
