State of Housing and Homelessness

Like many cities across the United States, Bellingham is facing housing challenges that are impacting children and adults. At least 742 people in Whatcom County are homeless on any given night. One in four of our local working families can’t afford their basic needs.

Through the voter-approved Bellingham Home Fund and other funding sources, the City of Bellingham is working hard to make progress toward solutions. Find more information about the current state of housing and homelessness below, as well as a summary of our work.

Francis Place and 22 North – Safe places where people like Dean can get support and rebuild a life for themselves.
