​​​​​​​​Lifeguard Training Courses

Learn how to effectively prevent and respond to water emergencies. Upon successful completion of this course, you will receive certifications in Lifeguarding, First Aid, CPR/AED, Administering Emergency Oxygen, and Bloodborne Pathogens Training.

All students must be at least 15 years old and complete a swimming pretest prior to enrolling. The pretest includes:

  • Swim-Tread-Swim – Swim 150 yards using Crawl or Breaststroke, tread for 2 minutes without arms, swim 50 more yards. Goggles are allowed.
  • Timed Event – Swim 20 yards, retrieve a 10-lb brick from the bottom of the lap pool, return 20 yards swimming with the brick. On the return, the brick must be held at the surface in both hands, kicking only.
  • Submerging – Submerge to the bottom of the dive tank, retrieve the 10-lb brick, return to surface with the brick

Registration closes 5 days prior to the start of class. A minimum of 4 registrants is required.

Lifeguard Instructor Course

Upon successful completion, you will be certified to instruct basic level Lifeguarding, First Aid, CPR/AED, Emergency Oxygen Administration, Bloodborne Pathogens Training, and Basic Water Safety courses. Students must be at least 17 years old, have current certification in Lifeguarding, First Aid, and CPR/AED, complete the swimming and rescue pretest and complete an online pre-course.

Registration closes 14 days prior to the start of class. A minimum of 4 registrants is required.

Course Fee: $200.00

Dates: Friday-Sunday, December 13-15

Times: Friday: 6:30 pm – 9:00 pm, & Saturday-Sunday: 8:00 am – 5:30 pm

Water Safety Instructor Course

Are you 16 years or older? You can become a Water Safety Instructor and help save lives by teaching skills that will keep all ages safe in, on, and around the water. This course is led by an instructor and includes an online pre-course. The online pre-course will open two weeks prior to the course start date and must be completed before the first day of class. Course materials can be accessed on the Red Cross website once you have registered and paid for the pre-course.

Registration closes 14 days prior to the start of class. A minimum of 4 registrants is required.

Course Fee: $200.00

Dates: Friday-Sunday, December 6-8

Times: 8:00 am – 5:30 pm

Adult and Pediatric First Aid/CPR/AED

The course equips students to recognize and care for a variety of first aid breathing and cardiac emergencies involving adults children and infants. Upon successful completion a valid 2 year digital certificate for Adult and Pediatric First Aid/CPR/AED is issued.

Course Fee: $75.00

Dates: Saturday, October 12

Times: 9:00 am – 1:00 pm
