A law enforcement procession honoring fallen police Chief Michael Knapp will begin at the Phillip 66 Soccer Fields, located at 5238 Northwest Avenue, Bellingham, on November 20 at 1130 am. Only those agencies where Chief Knapp was employed are participating in this procession. After leaving the soccer field parking lot, the procession will travel Eastbound on E Smith Road and then turn Southbound on Guide Meridian. The procession will continue until making a Westbound turn on Westerly Road and into the Christ the King church parking lot.
First responders from other agencies and the public may show their support for Chief Knapp along the procession route. It is asked that those who wish to pay their respects, may do so along Meridian Street between Stuart Road and Westerly Road. For the safety of motorists and those involved in the procession, we ask you to park in the business parking lots along Meridian Street and stand on the sidewalks as the procession passes by. There will be enough time to get to the venue after the procession passes by for those who are attending the service. The only access to the venue will be off Westerly Road, from either Cordata Parkway or Meridian Street.
Traffic will be impacted by the procession and the public should expect delays along the route between 11:30 am and 12:00 pm.
