Post Point Resource Recovery Plant Tour
Sep 13, 2023 , 12:30 pm – 2:00 pm
Celebrate Whatcom Water Week! We use clean water to wash our hands, shower, clean our clothes and dishes, and flush toilets, which translates to lots of soapy water with human waste in it. Once this used water (often called wastewater) leaves your home or business, where does it flow and how is it treated? Join us for a tour of the City of Bellingham’s Post Point Resource Recovery plant on Wednesday, September 13 from 12:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. Learn about certain human-caused obstacles to the collection system and how our used water is filtered and sanitized before returning to Bellingham Bay. Tour will include Q & A with plant operators and laboratory staff. Check out an overview of the Post Point Resource Recovery Treatment Process.
