The Bellingham City Council strongly supports efforts of our City administration, and its economic development partners in the community, to grow local businesses and attract new high quality companies to the area. In 2016, the Council passed an updated Comprehensive Plan with an Economic Development Chapter that provides a framework for achieving the Council goal of creating a Vibrant Sustainable Economy. The City also participates in the Think Local First campaign designed to support local business and keep dollars in the community.
