Over the past several months, our newest class of five Paramedics have completed their Paramedic training and are now certified Advanced Life Support (ALS) providers in Whatcom County! These individuals have put in thousands of hours in class, studying, exams, continued education, clinicals, and on-shift evaluations. We thank them for their dedication and commitment to serving their community and providing advanced medical care to those in need. Congratulations to the following paramedics:

This past weekend, 16 women from around the area participated in the Future Women in EMS and Fire Workshop. BFD had 6 of our members join in on the instruction along with members from several other agencies. Way to go everyone!

The month of May is Motorcycle Awareness Month and this upcoming holiday weekend is a good time to increase safety awareness and safety measures for motorcycle riders and vehicle drivers.

To keep everyone safe on the road, the National Safety Council recommends the following:

● Always be on the lookout for motorcyclists
● Focus on driving; avoid distraction
● Use your turn signals
● Give motorcyclists plenty of room
● Don’t speed
