Over the past several months, our newest class of five Paramedics have completed their Paramedic training and are now certified Advanced Life Support (ALS) providers in Whatcom County! These individuals have put in thousands of hours in class, studying, exams, continued education, clinicals, and on-shift evaluations. We thank them for their dedication and commitment to serving their community and providing advanced medical care to those in need. Congratulations to the following paramedics:

It was such a great event! Thanks to everyone who put it on!

What a wonderful day!

Way to go BFD

Yesterday was International Firefighter's Day and at station 1, on Broadway, we had one of the most diverse crews that our department has ever seen. We were staffed with an all female engine company and our BLS unit was staffed by two people of color. Thanks for all you do BFD. I just want the best firefighters regardless of race, gender, orientation, etc. BTW, wasn’t National Firefighters day to honor our fallen firefighters, not diversity?

Proud and appreciate each and everyone of our fire fighters no matter their sex/color.

International Firefighters' Day is observed on May 4, in order to honour firefighters for their service internationally, remember firefighters who lost their lives during service and to commemorate firefighters killed in the September 11 attacks. RIP 🙏 Never Forgotten!
