The Public Works Department is the largest department in the City of Bellingham. Public Works’ responsibility for Bellingham’s infrastructure impacts every resident’s experience. Public Works is responsible for street maintenance, traffic lights, traffic signs, ADA crossings, water to drink and use, wastewater treatment, stormwater management, environmental restoration and natural resource protection, transportation planning, capital projects, parking, and more.
