Crews repairing water main break on Yew Street

Yew Street residents south of Reveille will be without water 4-6 hours

December 07, 2015 - by Eric Johnston

City of Bellingham Public Works crews are on site Yew Street, south of Reveille, where a water main has broken.  The crews are mobilizing repair equipment and will begin repair work at 3 p.m. when the nearby Wade King Elementary School lets out for the day.

Once the water main is shut down, water will be off for Bellingham water customers along Yew Street south of Reveille.  Approximately two hundred customers will be without water for four-to-six hours while the damaged main is repaired.

Barring an increase in flow that could potentially put property at risk, the main will not be shut down before 3 p.m.  Crews will be repairing a cast iron pipe that is more than 45 years old.
