League of Women Voters to hold election forums at City Hall

Stay informed about the upcoming general election

September 29, 2015 - by Vanessa Blackburn

The City of Bellingham is partnering with the League of Women Voters of Bellingham/Whatcom County to host a series of Election Forums at the City Council Chambers in City Hall, 210 Lottie Street. The forums, which are open to the public, inform voters about issues and candidates before the general election.

Each forum focuses on specific races and issues. The City of Bellingham, through
BTV10, will televise and stream the forums live and will continue to broadcast the forums until election day. The forums will also be available to watch on the City's
Youtube channel. The Bellingham Herald uses the forums to determine which candidates to endorse.

Stream the forums online, watch them on BTV10, or attend them at City Hall during the following times:

  • Tuesday, September 29, 2015, 6:30 to 8:30 pm: Port of Bellingham, Bellingham School Board, Jail Sales Tax Measure
  • Tuesday, October 6, 2015, 6:30 to 8:30 pm: Whatcom County Council, Whatcom County Executive
  • Saturday, October 10, 2015, 10 am to noon: County Charter Amendments

The League of Women Voters will release information about the State ballot measures in lieu of a forum.
