Road restrictions and closures for Feb. 16-19

Road and weather conditions can change rapidly

February 12, 2016 - by Amy Cloud, Communications and Outreach

Drivers need to know that the following City of Bellingham streets will have traffic limitations during the holiday-shortened week of February 16-19, in order to accommodate construction. Motorists are reminded that weather and road conditions can change rapidly; drivers should plan accordingly.

8th Street – between Harris Avenue and McKenzie Avenue
This stretch of 8th Street is closed for construction of a regional stormwater treatment facility for Fairhaven. For more information, visit the City's web page at Water Quality for Padden Estuary or contact Stephen Day, P.E., Project Engineer, at smday@cob.org or 778-7944.

Harris Avenue – between 6th and 9th
Travelers may experience intermittent lane closures and traffic delays along Harris Avenue. For more information, visit the City's web page at Water Quality for Padden Estuary or contact Stephen Day, P.E., Project Engineer, at smday@cob.org or 778-7944.

The City of Bellingham Public Works Department provides this road status update, as a public service, based on currently available information. When traveling through a construction area, drivers, bicyclists and pedestrians are asked to be patient, proceed with caution and obey flaggers at all times. Planned road closures and restrictions are necessary to allow for a variety of work including resurfacing, sidewalk construction, water and sewer main work, and utility cuts. Dates, times and work locations are subject to change due to inclement weather or last-minute changes in work schedules.
