City's 'Spring Clean' set for April 7-9

Free drop-off of woody debris for City residents

For three days in April, called Spring Clean, City of Bellingham residents will be able to drop off tree branches and woody debris – for free – at Cowden Gravel on 4000 Hannegan Road in Bellingham.

The April drop-off period is timed to coordinate with spring cleaning.  From Friday, April 7 through Sunday, April 9 between 7:30 a.m. and 4 p.m. Public Works will be set up to receive the type of yard waste previously such as branches and woody material, but no dirt or grass clippings or material that cannot go through a chipper for mulch.  

The City of Bellingham's subsidy of a seasonal woody debris transfer station (Clean Green) ended more than a year ago. However, there are options for year-round disposal of yard waste and compost, including:

City of Bellingham residents already receive curbside garbage pick-up and recycling services through SSC.  To add the Food+ option, contact Sanitary Services directly.
