A body was discovered in response to a 911 call early this morning. Police responded to the 700 block of E. Illinois after a resident called 911, at the request of a male who lives nearby.
Shortly after 4:39 this morning, a 53 year old male was found deceased outside his residence. The male suffered from head and facial trauma. The male who asked a neighbor to call 911 is the roommate of the victim.
Initial indications, based on evidence at the scene, are that there may have been some sort of fight or confrontation. Police do not believe this is a random act, or that there is a threat to the public.
Search warrants are being served. Detectives and Crime Scene Investigators are working to gather evidence at the scene.
Information will be updated as the investigation progresses. Victim information is being withheld pending next of kin notifications.
