April 04, 2017 - by Lt. Bob Vander Yacht

suspect.jpgBellingham Police are investigating the report of a man who walked into an unlocked house in the 900 block of Billy Frank Jr. Street and got into bed with a female in the early morning hours of March 18.  The female screamed and the man immediately ran out of the house.  Officers and a police K-9 searched the area and were unable to locate the suspect.

The suspect is described as a white male in his 20s, around 6 feet tall, skinny build, light short brown hair, wearing jeans, gray hooded sweatshirt and a black flat-brimmed hat with possible stars on the hat.  He smelled of alcohol and heavy cologne.

At this time, it is unknown if this is related to other recent voyeurism incidents near the WWU campus.

Residents are encouraged to take safety measures at all times, which include talking to neighbors and roommates as well as assuring that doors and windows are secured whether you are home or away.  Any unusual activity should be reported to police by calling 9-1-1.

Extra patrol of this area is ongoing.
