Cordata, Ellis and State Overlay

Project Overview ES569

This project will repair deteriorating pavement, replace aging utilities, make changes to crosswalks to bring them up to current ADA standards, and increase accessibility of roads to bicyclists. The streets to be overlayed are Cordata Parkway starting at W Bakerview Road to W Kellogg Road, Ellis Street from Sunset Drive to Squalicum Parkway, and N State Street from Iowa Street to Ellis Street.

Project Status

The scope of utility replacement is being determined in conjunction with the operations teams that manage them on a day-to-day basis, and an RFQ for survey work has been advertised to have the areas of work mapped.

This project is intended to preserve the valuable asset that is pavement. The Transportation Improvement Plan calls for Street Preservation funded partially by the Transportation Fund that was approved by Bellingham voters in November 2020.

Funding will come from the Street and Transportation funds for the overlaying of roads, road crossing improvements, and lane reconfigurations. Utility replacement funding will come from the applicable fund for that utility.
